Defending the Veteran’s Cross in the Mojave Desert!
Chelene Nightingale (below) speaks at the "Dont Tear Down The Cross" event in the Mojave Desert concerning the ludicrous lawsuit currently in litigation about this site. ABC, CNN and FOX covered the event. The cross has been a war memorial for over 75 years, and the ACLU has been suing to tear it down! Currently it is being covered with a wooden box pending a Supreme Court ruling. The event was attended by off duty Marines who drove all the way from Fort Polk Louisiana to attend the event (several are pictured with Chelene Nightingale). It was a somber moment as they read the names of their fallen comrades from their unit to the crowd. Our AIP speakers, who included National Veteran’s Coalition Chairman, Larry Breazeale, and 45th Congressional District Candidate, Bill Lussenheide, were powerful and inspiring and well received by the crowd of about 125, which, considering the extremely remote location of the event was quite a turnout for a weekday.
